Focus group interviews with non-visitors and non-actors

What are the reasons for people from marginalized communities who are interested in art and culture not to take advantage of cultural services and events? What barriers prevent marginalized people interested in culture from shaping the cultural sector themselves? What creative solutions do people find who have become non-visitors and non-actors, often against their will?

In four focus groups, the Vielfalt entscheidet - Diversity in Leadership team of Citizens For Europe asked marginalized cultural workers and people interested in the arts about their experiences and expectations. In order to preserve the anonymity of the participants, the results were assigned to seven personas.

Among other things, the personas express their views on

  •     Experiences of discrimination
  •     Dealing with barriers
  •     Criticism of the cultural sector
  •     Expectations of the cultural sector
  •     Expectations of politics
  •     Participation in cultural life
